Train Hits Tractor Trailer In East Pittsburgh
EAST PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- No injuries were reported when a train struck a tractor trailer Thursday night in East Pittsburgh.
The accident happened just before 9 p.m. along the tracks on East Main Street.
Officials say the train pushed the tractor trailer several hundred yards down the tracks.
The truck driver and passenger were able to get out of the truck before the train hit it.
No one was hurt as a result of the accident.
The truck reportedly caught fire after the collision, but it was quickly put out. Hazmat crews were also called out to clean some diesel fuel that spilled.
No evacuations were necessary.
