Pittsburgh isn't exactly known for its Cinco de Mayo scene. The holiday frequently coincides with the Pittsburgh marathon, making for a very busy downtown. Although Pittsburghers can usually find a party or two sprinkled in the mix, it depends on how the holiday falls. This year, Cinco de Mayo falls on a Thursday, and the Pittsburgh marathon is scheduled for the previous weekend on May 1. That means you have all weekend to enjoy the downtown scene without the extra traffic. Even if there are a lack of Cinco de Mayo parties, there is no lack of tasty Latin cuisine in Pittsburgh.
