2013's bar business was booming thanks to several new bars popping up throughout Pittsburgh. From unique sports bars to trendy café-lounge combos serving up international cuisine and even a bar that brings a tropical feel to the city, there's a hot spot for everyone to explore no matter what your taste. If you're bored with your usual watering hole, these five newly opened bars promise to deliver plenty of good times and even better drinks.

Pittsburgh hockey fans will be cheering after they score a winning night out at Blue Line Grille, the city's newest premium sports bar located within walking distance of Pittsburgh's CONSOL Energy Center. Swing by before a Pens game for some pre-game drinks and snacks, including pen wings slathered in your choice of one of eight sauces, burgers and sandwiches, starters, salads and pizza. Wash your favorite bar bites down with Blue Line Grille's signature drink "The Blue Lemieux" in the Sin Bin, the bar's exclusive penalty box, or venture up to the 5,500-square-foot rooftop deck companion bar with prime views of CONSOL. Blue Line Grille is the brainchild of James Mendelson, owner of Doc's Place Bar and Restaurant in Shadyside.

A chic hangout combining cocktails and music, AVA transforms from a daytime café to a trendy and chill bar after dark where patrons can eat, drink, relax and enjoy an evening of music ranging from classic hip-hop to world. Weeknight specials and events are the perfect time to sample AVA's 14 different craft cocktails, like Eviction Notice and Steel City Slam, and more than 30 awesome beers.
