BEAVER, Pa. (KDKA) — A Beaver County woman is charged with the deaths of her two young children.
Quanesha Lindsey is facing multiple charges, including murder, in the deaths of her 4-month-old son on Saturday and her 2-year-old son in October.
"I felt so bad, I felt so bad for the young kids," neighbor Russell Hilliard said.
On Saturday, police responded to a home on 8th Street Extension for reports of a 4-month-old boy not breathing. Six weeks ago on Oct. 21, Harmony police responded to the home under the same circumstances for Lindsey's 2-year-old son.
Investigators say the 27-year-old admitted to causing both of their deaths.
According to the criminal complaint, Lindsey told detectives that she strangled her 4-month-old son and caused the October death of her 2-year-old son by suffocating him.
Hilliard and other residents believe the 4-month-old's death could have been prevented.
"They should have investigated more," Hilliard said.
KDKA-TV's Mamie Bah reached out to Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier. He said the death of the 2-year-old was under investigation and the cause of death was not determined.
He also said at that time, officials had no reason to suspect any of the other children were at risk. He added that the incident was being motored by Children and Youth Services and the police.
According to research, this was not Lindsey's first run-in with the law. In August 2019, police in Sunrise, Florida arrested her for allegedly abusing her 2-year-old son. Investigators say she repeatedly slammed his head on a metal bedpost.
Lozier told KDKA-TV that officials weren't aware of that at the time of the 2-year-old's death in Harmony Township.
Lindsey is in the Beaver County Jail.
