Woman, 7-Year-Old Daughter Dead After Fayette Co. Crash

BULLSKIN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A woman and a 7-year-old child were killed and two other children were injured in an accident involving their car and a dump truck Wednesday morning in Fayette County.

According to officials at the scene, the accident happened along Englishman Hill Road in Bullskin Township.

The mother of three lost control of her vehicle around a curve and crossed into the path of an oncoming dump truck.

KDKA's Kym Gable Reports:

The driver of the dump truck attempted to avoid the car, but was unable to do so.

All three children were taken to Children's Hospital. One later died and has been identified as Myah Worley, who was in first grade in the Southmoreland School District.

Doctors were able to revive her at a nearby hospital, but she passed away after being rushed to Children's Hospital.

The other two children, a 5-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy, are in stable condition.

The mother has been identified as 26-year-old Angela Thomas. She was killed instantly.

"She took care of her kids and always was out here with them, watching them," said Mike Richter, Thomas's friend. "It's tragic. She was a real good close friend of mine."

"She was a great neighbor," added Cindy Richter, Thomas's friend. "It's sad. Her kids were so sweet."

Thomas worked at the McDonald's in Connellsville.

Thomas' friends Heather Lynn and Candy Sanner came to the crash site Wednesday afternoon and placed a stuffed animals at the side of the road.

Both women are stunned by what happened and say Thomas a very good mother.

McDonald's released a statement saying that the company's thoughts and prayers are with Thomas' family.

All three kids were in booster seats and were wearing seatbelts.

Meanwhile, the Southmoreland School District superintendent says grief counselors has been brought in to Southmoreland Primary Center to help students and staff through the loss.
