Watch Brenda Waters' report:

Both were taken to the Northern Regional Jail in W. Va., charged with murder. They are both being held on $1 million cash bond.

Early Saturday morning, Figaniak and a friend were walking home when they were allegedly jumped by a group of young men. Figaniak, a member of the varsity lacrosse team and club hockey team, suffered severe head trauma and died Sunday morning after being transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

The second victim told police there were three to four men in their early 20s involved in the assault. The second victim had abrasions and refused medical treatment.

Police also say there could be a third suspect.

""They are moving in the right direction for the arrest of a third suspect," said Sgt. Gregg McKenzie, Investigations Cmdr. for the Wheeling Police Department, "in fact an arrest is pending."

Figaniak was a senior business major and from Bucks County, Pa.

Police say the investigation remains active. Additional charges could be filed. No information was available on a possible motive.
