Allegheny Co. Health Dept. Confirms 1,582 Total Coronavirus Cases Countywide
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Allegheny County Health Department is reporting 31 new cases of Coronavirus on Friday, and two additional deaths.
The number of cases county-wide now totals 1,582.
Health officials say today's increase in cases "reflects results of testing over several days."
Officials report that 290 patients have been or are presently hospitalized among all cases. Of the hospitalized patients, 117 of them have needed care in the ICU, and 67 of them have required treatment with a ventilator.
The death toll now stands at 141. All victims are adults between the ages of 42-103.
The data reflected in these updates include information reported to the department in the past 24 hours as well as data since March 14 when the first case was reported in the county.

The increase in cases reported reflects results of testing over several days.

The Health Department says 54% of all Coronavirus patients are female, and 46% of them are male.
The highest number of cases remains in the 25-49 age bracket. The 65 and older age group has the second highest number of cases and the 50-64 age group is third.
Health officials say 23,114 tests have been administered across the county.
As of this morning, Allegheny County is one of the 13 counties that is moving into the "Yellow Phase" of reopening.
