Soccer Stadium Coming To Station Square
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Pittsburgh Riverhounds soccer team announced plans Tuesday to build a stadium at Station Square.
The stadium is expected to seat approximately 5,000 people and it will overlook the Monongahela River and Pittsburgh skyline. Riverhounds officials are hopeful the stadium can be constructed by the end of the summer.
The stadium will replace the Trib Total Media Ampitheater, which is situated just south of the Gateway Clipper Fleet docks.
It's expected to be a mulit-purpose stadium and some reports state the Pittsburgh Passion will share the facility.
