Workers Find Body In Northeast Philadelphia Sanitation Yard

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are investigating the discovery of a body in a sanitation yard Monday afternoon.

The discovery was made at about 12 p.m. at a sanitation yard on State Road near Ashburner Street in Northeast Philadelphia.

According to investigators, workers with the city's sanitation department discovered the body and called police.

It is believed that the victim may have been dropping items off at the yard on Saturday and his body was there for several days. Authorities say his car was found nearby.

The man appears to be his 70s.

Police say there were no obvious signs of foul play.

The man remains unidentified and his cause of death remains under investigation.
