Woman Struck, Killed By Car In East Oak Lane

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car in East Oak Lane early Friday morning.

The deadly incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. at Broad Street and Cheltenham Avenue.

According to investigators, a 53-year-old woman was attempting to cross the roadway and did not see an oncoming car. Authorities say the driver was not able to stop in time and struck the unidentified woman.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the driver stopped at the scene and tried to help the victim while they called police.

The incident remains under investigation.
