Woman Charged After Allegedly Biting, Kicking, Spitting On Officers During Arrest At Jersey Shore

NORTH WILDWOOD, N.J., (CBS) -- Authorities say a woman assaulted police officers and a firefighter while she was being arrested on November 17 in North Wildwood.

Officials say that police were sent out to Walnut and Olde New Jersey Avenues after a report came in regarding a disorderly woman. The incident took place around 8:43 p.m.

New Jersey Aims To Legalize Stun Guns

Police found the woman, identified as Elizabeth Sanders, on the 100 block of E. 2nd Avenue.

Authorities say that Sanders kicked two police officers in the leg and groin area as she was being arrested. They say she also allegedly bit on of the officers on the hand. Officials say she bit a firefighter as well.

Police say she went on to spit on two officers and a firefighter before being taken into custody.

Sanders, 43, was charged with aggravated assault on law enforcement, throwing bodily fluid and resisting arrest.
