Weekend Box Office: 'Other Guys' Takes Top Spot

There's a new leader at the box office. Why did Inception drop to second after three weekends in a row in first place at the box office? Because of The Other Guys.
KYW's Bill Wine reports the new Will Ferrell-Mark Wahlberg buddy-cop comedy, The Other Guys, debuted with a convincing first-place finish, earning an estimated $35 million.
Inception was second, taking in another $18 million in its fourth weekend to bring its cumulative total over the $225-million mark.
Third place went to the weekend's other new mainstream release -- the dance-drama sequel, Step Up 3-D -- which took in $15 million.
Rounding out the top five were the thriller, Salt, and the comedy, Dinner for Schmucks.
Overall, multiplex traffic was light, with industry totals slightly behind those on the counterpart weekend last year.
