Weekend Box Office: ''Another Win For The Expendables''

Star and director Sylvester Stallone's action thriller, The Expendables, made it two weekends in a row in first place at the box office, earning an estimated $16 million in its second weekend of release.

KYW's Bill Wine reports the five - count 'em, five - new films in wide release dominated the rest of the top 10: second place belonged to the spoof, Vampires Suck, of all titles, with $12 million.

Lottery Ticket, the jackpot comedy, placed fourth, earning $11 million in its debut.

The horror thriller, Piranha 3-D, was sixth with $10 million.

The children's fantasy sequel, Nanny McPhee Returns, finished seventh with just over $8 million.

And The Switch, the romantic comedy starring Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston, finished a disappointing eighth, earning a modest $8 million.

Overall, even though no title cleared the $20-million mark, industry totals were on par with the counterpart weekend a year ago.
