Wednesday's Child: Shahid
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Shahid is an athletic 15-year-old who loves to play football -- and create art.
What kinds of art?
"Sculpture, and I like to draw," he says.
And what does he like to draw?
"Faces, body figures, different kinds of styles of clothing."
Shahid's social worker, Karin Knodel, says Shahid is a great student and a good strategist.
"He's also really good at analytical thinking. I don't like to play him in Monopoly because he usually beats me, but he likes Monopoly, he likes chess, so he likes those games where you have to think through the strategy," she says.
Gloria Hochman, with the National Adoption Center, says Shahid is resilient.
"The remarkable thing about Shahid is that at 15 he has not given up hope to find a family. He's been waiting for a long time and he really wants a family that can be there for him and care about him," Hochman says.
