Wednesday's Child: Patrick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Thirteen-year-old Patrick imagines a future in which he races fancy cars and serves in the military. He says his strong faith has also led him to consider a career as a preacher.
"When I get sad, I pray to Him. Basically every time I go to bed, I pray to Him. I pray for people -- people that are in my life who help me out."
He tells Gloria Hochman, of the National Adoption Center in Philadelphia, that he'd like a family that will take him to church.
(Hochman:) "What does a family mean to you?"
(Patrick:) "Someone that cares. Someone that wouldn't just give you stuff to give you stuff. Someone that will take care of you, treat you with respect. And they explain the consequences -- they don't just yell."
And Hochman says Patrick's desire to be a preacher is significant.
"He wants to have a message he can give to other people," she explains. "And I think Patrick's message right now is, 'I need a family. I need somebody to take care of me.' "
