Watch: J.R. Smith's Emotional Press Conference
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- J.R. Smith has been through a lot.
On Father's Day of 2016, he became a World champion and emotionally credited his parents after the victory.
"I mean, my parents, my family, that's the biggest inspiration in my life," Smith said after the Cavaliers' 93-89 NBA Finals Game 7 win over the Warriors. "I've been in a lot of dark spots in my life, and if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be able to get out of it. But they are who they are.
"They fought with me. They yelled at me, they screamed at me, they loved me, they hugged me, they cried with me, and they always stuck by my side no matter right or wrong."
Smith, 30, scored 12 points on 5-13 shooting in 39 minutes.
And then, he partied.
