Volunteers Pass Out After-School Activity Schedule In Center City
By Jim Melwert
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - With kids back in the classroom, an annual after-school directory is out.
As they do every year, volunteers with After School Activities Partnership – or ASAP -- were out at 15th and Market handing out their directory of after school activities:
"We're trying to get to the morning commuters, parents, anybody who has brothers or sisters, nephews, neighbors with young children, so they can find something to between the hours from 3-6 pm after school."
ASAP executive director Justin Ennis says there are over 1,000 listings in the directory:
"Everything from enrichment programs, homework help, recreation programs, sports, to things like chess, scrabble, debate, arts and crafts, really anything you could imagine in the afterschool hours, anything that could interest a young mind."
Ennis says the directory is also available at every school or any branch of the free library, or online at phillyasap.org.
