Crews Respond To Vehicle Fire At North Philadelphia Gas Station
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Chopper 3 was over the scene as crews responded to a vehicle fire at a gas station in North Philadelphia.
CBS 3 is told the fire was reported at about 2:46 p.m. Monday at Broad Street and Girard Avenue.
The vehicle involved was a Temple Police vehicle. Temple University released the following statement regarding the incident:
"Earlier today, a Temple University police officer who was on duty refueling a patrol van at a gas station near Broad Street and Girard Avenue drove away from the gas pump with the hose still inside the vehicle's fuel fill pipe. This resulted in a fire at the station affecting the gas pump and a second Temple Police vehicle. No injuries were reported. This incident will be referred to Temple Police's Accident Review Board for further examination."
