The Linc Gets Soccer Spotlight Wednesday Night

Perhaps the world's most famous soccer team is invading Philadelphia, for an exhibition match on Wednesday night at Lincoln Financial Field.

KYW's Mike DeNardo reports probably most of the 40,000 plus at the Linc will be backing the hometown Philadelphia Union.  But with Manchester United playing only four cities on its North American tour, there should be a good number of Man-U fans as well, says Larry Needle, executive director of the Philadelphia Sports Congress:

"I think certainly it will be primarily a local and a regional crowd.  But we expect we're going to have some national and a few international visitors."

Manchester United opened the Linc in 2003.  Needle says attention from this match will help to generate buzz, as Philadelphia bids to become a future World Cup venue.
