The Kimmel Center Presents Jonathan Leshnoff's Hope: An Oratorio
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Jonathan Leshnoff's Hope: An Oratorio celebrates mankind's universal journey from the dark of the abyss of abandonment to the light and revival of hope - and the many ways that mankind takes that journey.
Leshnoff includes an orchestra, a vocalist, a children's choir, jazz singer, a classical soprano and tenor - voices not typically heard together. "It's about bringing lots of people together, lots of ideas together, to connect to our common humanity."
Leshnoff says Hope is life, '"finding hope in any situation, going from the darkness into the light."
Hope: an Oratorio, commissioned by the Kimmel Center for the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, will be performed April 24th. Go to kimmelcenter.org.
