The Eagles' Good, Bad & Ugly: Panthers 27 Eagles 16

Charlotte, NC (CBS) — There was a lot of things to dislike, and a lot to like on defense in the Eagles' 27-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers Sunday at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday night, falling to 3-4.

The Good

Safety Malcolm Jenkins' second-quarter interception led to a Caleb Sturgis 29-yard field goal with :04 left in the half.

Cornerback Nolan Carroll III had another big interception that kept the Eagles competitive in a dreadful first half.

Cornerback Bryon Maxwell's diving interception that led to a Sturgis 24-yard field goal.

Left tackle Matt Tobin did a great job filling in for Jason Peters at left tackle, after the perennial all-pro went down in the first half with back spasms.

The Bad

Nolan Carroll's illegal contact penalty prolonged Carolina's drive with over four minutes to play.

The Ugly

Receiver Josh Huff has all of the physical talent in the world, and may be one of these days he'll put it all together. But it doesn't help when you drop touchdown passes on throws that hit you right in the hands, as Sam Bradford's pass did in the third quarter that could have tied the game at 21-21.

Nose tackle Benny Logan called for consecutive false start penalties, with the ball six inches in front of him.

Quarterback Sam Bradford looks not only afraid but lost. He completed 26 of 46 for 205 yards and an interception.

Receiver Jordan Matthews dropped it seemed almost everything thrown to him.

Coach Chip Kelly's play calling lacked imagination and daring.
