Teen Pleads Guilty In Crash That Killed NJ Superintendent
ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (CBS) -- A teenager has pleaded guilty in the April crash that claimed the life of Robbinsville Schools Superintendent Dr. Steven Mayer.
Authorities are withholding the teenager's name because she was a juvenile at the time of crash.
The crash happened on April 19 when the student, who was on her way to school, struck and killed Mayer while he was jogging near his home.
His dog was also killed in the accident.
The teen driver entered guilty pleas to leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, and a citation for careless driving.
Officials say under the terms of the plea agreement, the driver will be sentenced to a probationary term of three years and her license will be suspended for two years. She will also be required to perform 200 hours of community service.
