Teen Charged After Allegedly Firing Paintballs At Pedestrians

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say a 16-year-old male has been charged with aggravated assault and other related charges for an alleged paintball gun incident.

Authorities say around 1:56 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a male firing paintballs from inside of a residence on the 1500 block of W. Diamond Street.

Upon arrival, officers found two victims.

The victims told police they were walking with a group of friends on the 1600 block of W. Diamond Street when they were shot with paintballs.

One of the victims told police he walked over to a house that had paint markings on it and knocked on the door. He says a juvenile came to the door with a paintball gun and began firing at him again.

The victim says this time he was not struck.

The victim told police the juvenile then ran back inside of the home.

Police say while on location, authorities observed four individuals exiting the residence.

The teen was positively identified and placed into custody.

Authorities say the residence was held pending a search warrant.

Police say the teen is charged with aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
