Spots Available for Free Sailing Camp in Collingswood
The Cooper River Yacht Club is offering a free sailing camp for kids, this week, and spaces are still available.

KYW's Pat Loeb says don't let the name fool you. There are no yachts at the yacht club, just one or two person boats. In fact, outreach co-coordinator Marcella Ridenour says you don't even need a boat-- the community sailing program provides unlimited access to a boat for members.
She says boating is actually economical:
"It's not like ice skating or tennis where you have to pay for the ice or the courts. The water is free."
Ridenour says, to make it even more accessible, the club offers a free one-week camp for low income kids between 9 and 16:
"It's not just sailing. This is a camp that is sailing, kayaking, canoeing, row-boating."
Ridenour says all that's required is that campers show they can swim 50 yards. You can pick up an application at the Yacht Club this weekend between 9am-4pm.
