Slushy accumulating snow Sunday in Philadelphia area. Here's the weather forecast.
Bundle up and be prepared for an all-day snow event Sunday. We're expecting between 2 and 5 inches of snow to fall around most of the Philadelphia region, except the Poconos and the beach areas.
Travel carefully as roads could be slick. And if you don't have to be out on the roads, it's a good day to stay inside and watch some football, bake, or put on a movie. And if you do need to head out:
This is all coming from a coastal low that's passing by. This started out bringing us snow north and west of Philadelphia. Precipitation in South Jersey and Delaware started out as rain, but is later changing over over to snow.
As the coastal low moves away from our area in the afternoon, any snow will shift to South Jersey. Two inches of snow is possible for inland South Jersey and the Shore.
Less snow in the northwest, a little more northeast—toward Trenton, we could see a few bands setting up to get up to 5 inches in a few spots.
A winter weather advisory is in effect across the Philadelphia region until 8 p.m.
Earlier in the day PennDOT instituted 45 mph speed limits on several major highways around Philadelphia. Those speed limits have since been restored to the original limits.
NEXT big weather change
