Snow And Freezing Rain Make For Treacherous Driving Conditions
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The snow and freezing rain pounded area roadways making this evening's commute more difficult than usual for most drivers.
Motorists encountered serious driving difficulties on area roadways.
The elements combined to make a slippery, slushy and slick mix Monday evening, causing some drivers to lose control of their vehicles. Josh says his Wawa run proved to be more formidable than usual.
"It's not a good thing to drive on. I did get stuck a few times," he said.
Constance says half her battle of staying safe on the road was against the freezing rain and snow, but the other half was against folks in a rush to get to their destination. "Some drivers are driving just like the ground is dry, slipping and sliding and swerving, because they are not obeying the laws of the land, nor are they obeying this weather," she explained.
Many drivers say the weather was not in their favor, but if you gave yourself plenty of time, and were lucky enough to get behind a Penndot truck, things weren't that bad.
