Sixers Over/Under Wins For 2015-16 Set At 21.5
By Ray Boyd
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A new season is on the horizon as the preseason has arrived for the Sixers. With a new year, comes new promise for a young team looking to show signs that their rebuild is actually working.
One way to do that is to win games. The Over/under win totals for the 2015-16 season were released by Bovada and the Sixers' number is set at 21.5 wins.
That total sits slightly above where the team finished in the first two seasons under Brett Brown finishing with 19 and 18 wins respectively.
Once again, the team boasts a Rookie of the Year contended in Jahlil Okafor. Despite all the positives in Okafor's game, his presence creates a serious question mark in regards to how he meshes with Nerlens Noel.
Can the two play together on the court at the same time effectively on the offensive end?
Point guard will also be a major question mark as the team did not address the position in a major way this offseason. A combination of Tony Wroten, Isaiah Canaan and one of Kendall Marshall, Pierre Jackson, T.J. McConnell or Scottie Wilbekin, will make up the group.
Despite the question marks, there are positive signs that point to improvement. The team finally has groups of players with identifiable NBA skills. There are shooters. There are post up scorers. There are slashers. There are defenders.
Even the projected starting five of Tony Wroten, Nik Stauskas, Robert Covington, Noel and Okafor should get people paying attention.
The total for the Sixers was the lowest assigned to a team for the upcoming season.
