Several Rescues Reported In 7-Story Apartment Building Fire In Allentown
ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Firefighters are battling a blaze at a 7-story apartment building in Allentown and have had to make several rescues. But authorities say no serious injuries are reported.
Assistant fire Chief Lee Laubach says the fire broke out around 10:20 a.m. Monday and it took about 30 minutes to knock it down. He says firefighters had to rescue several people, including a woman on the third floor screaming for help from her window.
Officials say that woman was being treated for smoke inhalation, but no other injuries were reported.
There was no immediate word on what may have started the fire or how many people may be displaced.
