Rutgers Decides Not to Grow Jersey's Med. Marijuana

Saying marijuana's status as an illegal drug would jeopardize millions in federal funding to the school, Rutgers University has declined Governor Christies request to become the state's lone grower of medical marijuana. KYW's John McDevitt reports Bob Goodman is the executive dean of agriculture and natural resources at Rutgers University in New Brunswick:

"As a researcher and academic leader I'm disappointed in a way that we had to reach this conclusion because my colleagues and I feel there are lots of interesting scientific questions; medical question to be asked and answered."

He says the legal consultants advised not to participate in any way for the school would be in non-compliance with federal law.
