Ron Jaworski Golf Expands In South Jersey

BLACKWOOD, N.J., (CBS) -- The Ron Jaworski Golf franchise is branching out again, with this week's purchase of its fifth golf course in South Jersey. And they've got plans to make some big changes, in short order.
The team of investors that's topped by the former Eagles quarterback turned ESPN football analyst has taken the reins at Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel. They already own facilities in Blackwood, West Deptford, Pittsgrove and Galloway Township, as well as Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Executive Vice President B.J. Jaworski, Jaws's son, is excited about the latest acquisition. "It's a great golf course in probably the best location in South Jersey," the younger Jaworski told KYW Newsradio. "You have route 73, 295 and the turnpike all within a mile of here."
The course will remain open this winter while major renovations take place in landscaping and in the clubhouse next week. "We've got a big team coming in and we've got great guys that we already have the plan in place," he said. "We have product ordered and we're ready to start rolling."
Some weddings are being moved to other Jaworski facilities, but expectations are to have the work completed, on time, by April 1.
Jaworski would not disclose the purchase price for Ramblewood, but said his father had wanted to obtain the property for a long time. The Goodwin family had owned Ramblewood for more than 50 years. Two family members will remain there serving in executive positions.
Among the partners in Ron Jaworski Golf is another name football fans will recognize. Joe Flacco, quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens and a native of Audubon, New Jersey, has a piece of the action. Flacco has won a Super Bowl. Ron Jaworski played in one with the Eagles and remains a fan favorite. Jaworski is also a part owner of the Philadelphia Soul in the Arena Football League.
