BENSALEM, Pa., (CBS) -- Bensalem Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects wanted in connection with the theft of about $100,000 in jewelry from three local stores.
On Tuesday, February 25th, at about 6 p.m., a white male wearing a black jacket and knit hat entered Sears at Neshaminy Mall.
According to police, the male went to the jewelry department and cut the cable which secured a spinning displaying case full of jewelry to the main display case. Police say the male then loaded the entire spinning display case into a shopping cart, and exited the store.
He entered the passenger side of a red pickup truck parking outside of Sears. The vehicle then fled the scene. Police say the vehicle was driven by a white male.
The total value of the jewelry in the displaying case is reported to be about $53,000.
The next day on Wednesday, police say a spinning jewelry display case was stolen from the K-Mart at the 100 block of W. Street Road in Lower Southampton Township. Witnesses stated that a red newer model pickup was seen fleeing the scene. The first two letters on the registration were reported to be "ZC".
Then on Thursday, police say two white males entered the Sears at Oxford Valley Mall. According to police, they stole a spinning jewelry display case and fled in a red or orange pickup truck with the first two letters of "ZC".
Police say the total value of the three thefts is about $100,000.
Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Mike Moretti at 215-633-3719.
Sgt. Andrew Aninsman with the Bensalem Police Department noted, "They did three jobs over three days. They're probably going to be doing it again if they're not doing it somewhere else."
As it turns out, Eyewitness News learned from sources police now suspect at least one of the suspects from the Bucks County incidents struck a fourth time on Friday February 28th in Moorestown, NJ.
According to police, at 8:29 PM, Moorestown officers responded to the Kmart store located at 401 RT 38, Moorestown, NJ for a report of an armed robbery of jewelry. Kmart Loss Prevention reported that one of the suspects used a tool to cut the security cable securing a freestanding jewelry display case to the jewelry counter. The second suspect fled from the store with the display case.
When a Kmart Loss Prevention employee attempted to apprehend one of the suspects in the parking lot, the suspect threatened the Kmart employee with a knife. That suspect then ordered his accomplice to retrieve a gun and shoot the Kmart employee.
The Kmart employee ran to safety. Neither of the suspects displayed a gun. The suspects fled north on S. Lenola Rd in a dark blue Chevrolet sedan.
Kmart Loss Prevention is in the process of identifying the type and value of the stolen jewelry.
The Kmart employee was not physically injured. Anyone who can identify the suspects is asked to contact Moorestown Detectives at 856-914-3092.
