Police Seek Gunman On Bicycle After North Philadelphia Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are looking for a suspect they say is responsible for a shooting incident that took place on Thursday in North Philadelphia. Authorities say the man rode through a neighborhood on a bicycle and opened fire.

Police say the incident took place around 3:14 p.m. A postal worker was sitting in her work vehicle on the 1600 block of North 25th Street. Police say she saw two men walking north on the block and another man on bicycle at Nicholas and 25th Street.

Moments later, police say she saw the two men running in the opposite direction coming back down the block. Authorities say she heard gunshots coming from the area of where the man on the bike was.

Police say the man on the bicycle rode past her vehicle as she fell to the floor to take cover. The woman eventually got out of the vehicle and saw a single bullet hole in the left side of her windshield. A nearby car was struck three times.

Officials say the suspect fled the area and was last seen going south on 25th Street heading towards Oxford Street.

The Philadelphia Police Department released surveillance video of the incident.

Authorities say no one was injured.

The suspect is being described as a black male with a stocky build and facial hair. He wore a blue tee shirt, dark colored jeans, white sneakers and was on a bicycle.
