NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - New Castle County Police say a 17-year-old was stabbed during a struggle with a man who tried to rob him.

It happened Tuesday about 7:40 p.m. when the teen was walking down his driveway to take trash to the street when a man approached him and demanded his property. The teen refused, and the man punched him in the face, then fled.

A second man approached the youth, and youth hit him, knocking him to the ground. A struggle ensued and the youth was stabbed in the stomach.

The teen went into his house and called 911. He was taken to Christiana Hospital.
