Phils' Rookie Brown Eager For Playoff Action

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- More than 46,000 people were at the ballpark last night to watch Roy Halladay throw his history-making no-hitter in a 4-0 NLDS game #1 win over the Reds.

Phils' rookie outfielder Domonic Brown had a great seat from the dugout for the game, and he says it was apparent early on that "Doc" was dealing:

"I was going in the cage earlier and you could just tell from watching it on the TV, how his stuff was cutting and sinking and just doing all this crazy stuff. So I knew it was going to be a fun time."

Brown made the 25-man roster for the NLDS as a rookie, despite seeing very limited playing time down the stretch.

And for someone who is used to playing every day, coming off the bench has taken some getting used to:

"It's been a big-time adjustment for me. I've been an every-day player all my life, and then to come here and start for a couple games until Victorino gets back, and then I thought maybe they were going to send me down.  But they didn't -- they kept me up here.

"You know, I'm just hanging around some of these guys that have been doing it before, and that's what's making me that much better off the bench."

Brown hit .210 during the regular season as a rookie with a couple of home runs, but more importantly, he's gotten to experience a September run, and now history, firsthand:

"It's been great, man, it's been a great run. We're just trying to continue this success and win this World Series."
