Phillies Sign OF Will Venable To Minor League Contract
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Phillies have signed outfielder Will Venable to a minor league contract, the team announced on Monday.
The contract comes with an invitation to major league spring training.
Venable, 33, hit .244 with six homers and 33 RBI's in 135 games with the Texans Rangers and San Diego Padres last year. His best season came in 2013, when he hit .268 with 22 home runs and 53 RBIs for the Padres.
