Phillies Return Home To Modest Greeting

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Not many fans were around as the Phillies returned home Monday after their sweep of the Reds in the NLDS series.

Lights and sirens going, a police escort accompanied the team's four charter buses from the airport to almost as many reporters and photographers as fans. The homecoming was unpublicized so for several of those on-hand it was just dumb luck:

"Oh, my gosh, we were just having lunch. We saw the buses. It was awesome. It was like perfect timing, I don't know."

Another woman said she'd been exchanging a Phils jersey when the guys who wear them on the field materialized. The team will balance rest and readiness in the run-up to Saturday's start of the NLCS.  Fans too are probably just catching their breath.
