Philadelphia Serves Up First Cheesesteak Festival
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – More than 40 cheesesteak vendors from all across the region put their skills to the test Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.
This was part of the first annual Philadelphia Cheesesteak Festival. It featured games, music and even a cheesesteak eating contest.
Those in attendance also got to see the world's largest cheesesteak – 480 feet -- built by Steve's Prince of Steaks and Amoroso's Bakery.
"It's Philadelphia's comfort food," says Jesse Amoroso with Amoroso's. "It's what everybody thinks of when they think of Philadelphia. It makes you feel good, it's what you eat when you're with friends, what you eat for lunch, for dinner, at the end of the night."
Not everybody had a good time at the event. There were reports of long lines and not enough food trucks dishing out cheesesteaks.
