Philadelphia Orchestra Opens Season with Bell
The Philadelphia Orchestra opens its new season on Thursday, September 23rd at the Kimmel Center with a gala concert event featuring violinist Joshua Bell.
KYW's Karin Phillips reports Sally Bullard is President of the Orchestra's Volunteer Committees:
"We are raising money through this gala event to support the educational initiatives of the Orchestra. And it's quite appropriate with Joshua Bell (photo) because he was a child prodigy, made his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the age of 14."
The Orchestra's opening night also features a new type of simulcast:
"It's a fundraiser for the Orchestra, but the Young Friends will be able to have cocktails and see the simulcast performance at the Piazza."
