Philadelphia Folk Festival Marks Its 49th Year
Today is the first day of this year's Philadelphia Folk Festival, and KYW's Hadas Kuznits was there.
The 49th annual Philadelphia Folk Festival is underway in Schwenksville, Pa. And attendees were feeling the love.
(Man:) "In a sense it's a flashback to the '60s, as you can see by some of the costumes."
(Woman:) "You see people that you wonder what they really do in their regular life because they can't be like this in their real life, you don't think. It's music, constantly."
(Man:) "It's just a great atmosphere."
Many of those attending have been coming here for years:
(Man #2:) "Hmm, about 15-20 years."
(Woman:) "This is, I think, number 19."
(Man #3:) "This is my 29th year."
(Man #4:) "Lots of parents came here and their kids came here, and then their kids met somebody here and in some cases they're bringing the grandkids here."
And hat keeps them coming back?
"The people, the music, the weather."
The Philadelphia Folk Festival runs through Sunday.
