Phila. Promotes New Budget Director from Within

Philadelphia's mayor didn't have to look far for a replacement for outgoing budget director Steven Agostini.

KYW's Paul Kurtz reports Mayor Michael Nutter has appointed City Treasurer Rebecca Rynhart to the new post -- and he says the choice was easy. 

"She's the only person that I thought about. She's the only person that I asked, and I didn't need to look anywhere else -- because I already had the best person I was going to find."

Rynhart won't move into her new job right away.

"Rebecca will gradually transition from her current duties to her new position and officially assume her new role on November 1st.  This will provide us time to provide a proper search for a new City Treasurer.'

Rynhart will oversee a $4 billion operating budget when she takes over.
