Pete Carroll: 'No Question' Carson Wentz Is Going To Be Great

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Seattle Seahawks finally made Carson Wentz look like a rookie.

But the Seahawks, who have lost just five times at home since 2012, make a lot of opposing quarterbacks silly.

Wentz was just 23-45 for 218 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in Sunday's 26-15 loss at Seattle, but Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and star corner Richard Sherman were impressed with the Eagles' rookie.

"Did you see the number of times he looked us off?" Carroll said on his radio show. "He looked us off really well. He was looking off on the curl routes, moving the linebackers. That's fantastic stuff for a guy to do. He did it on the touchdown play, he was really good. That's really advanced stuff.

"This is a guy who hasn't played very much. He's going to be a great player, there is no question. He's got everything you need, he's got great poise, he's tough, he's fast, he's strong, and he's got some sense already. And he was changing plays and he handle the noise, he did a great job. He really did."

Sherman was also impressed with Wentz's demeanor for a rookie.

"He was poised," Sherman said of Wentz via USAToday. "He wasn't shook. He's a rook. That's what he is. He's been kind of getting an easy walk through this league and then he ran into some people that we've been there before."
