Overnight Snow Causes Few Highway Problems In NJ
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- With few cars on the road, few problems were being reported Wednesday morning in New Jersey.
Turnpike Authority spokesman Joe Orlando says both the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway are in good shape. The Parkway is down to blacktop.
Air travel was another matter. Eight inches of snow fell overnight at Newark Airport, which is seeing 15-minute delays and 440 flights canceled.
Central New Jersey saw slightly less north than up north, with 7 inches reported in Ewing. East Rutherford saw the most snow, with more than a foot.
State offices are on a two-hour delayed start, as are many municipal offices.
NJ Transit says trains and light rail are running on schedule.
Bus service has some delays.
