Man Sought After Woman Stabbed In SEPTA Transit Station Elevator

PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) — Police are looking for a man who stabbed a woman in a transit station elevator during an attempted robbery in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at SEPTA's Huntington Station along the Market-Frankford Line.

Officials said the 30-year-old woman got into the elevator and a man in his mid-to-late 30's followed her inside. Police said the man pulled a knife and demanded money, then stabbed her in the shoulder and leg while trying to look through her pockets. She fell and crawled out of the elevator, screaming for help, and the man fled.

Police said nothing was taken.

The woman was treated at a hospital and listed in stable condition.
