NJ Man Gets Lengthy Term For Killing Romantic Rival
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A man now serving time for a stabbing death in Pennsylvania has received a lengthy prison sentence in New Jersey for the fatal shooting of a man killed in a dispute over a woman.
Camden County prosecutors say Laurie Wint recently received a 22-year term for the June 2011 killing of Kevin Miller. That sentence will run consecutive to the 25-year term Wint is now serving in Pennsylvania, meaning the 26-year-old Wint won't start serving the New Jersey sentence until he completes his current term.
Wint was convicted in June on a passion provocation manslaughter charge and weapons offenses. Prosecutors said he shot Miller in a Camden park after Miller learned Wint had spent the day with a woman Miller was dating.
