The bus was turning from Boot Road onto West Chester Pike when it was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on West Chester Pike, the district said in a letter to the community. It turned over on the passenger side with four Paxon Hollow Middle School students, one adult aide, and the driver on board, the school district said.

Emergency crews took the students to a nearby hospital for evaluation of minor injuries, the district said.

The district said an elementary school principal, a former teacher, and a former assistant, all of whom knew the students, went to the scene to help comfort them.

There's no word on what led up to the crash or the conditions of anyone involved.
