New Orleans Saints Place Jairus Byrd On Season-Ending IR
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Remember when we were all upset the Eagles signed safety Malcolm Jenkins over safety Jairus Byrd? Well, on Friday, the Saints head coach Sean Payton announced Byrd was placed on season-ending injured reserve after he tore his meniscus in Thursday's practice.
While Byrd has started all four games for the Saints this season and has the team's lone turnover, Jenkins has played much better than Byrd in his first four games with the Eagles. Jenkins has an interception in each of his last three games, already setting a new career high with three picks in a season, including one in which returned for a touchdown.
It looks like Howie Roseman, Chip Kelly, and the Eagles were right and we were wrong. Oh well, it won't stop us from complaining in the future.
