New Jersey Woman Driving On Highway Killed When Tree Falls On Her Car

COLTS NECK TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS/AP) — Authorities say a woman was killed when a tree fell on her vehicle as she drove along a central New Jersey highway.

It happened around 4:3o p.m. Saturday on southbound Route 34 between Clover Hill Road and Highfield Lane in Colts Neck Township.

Police say 46-year-old Stacey Weathers, of Tinton Falls, was alone in her Mustang convertible when she was struck by a falling tree.

She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Authorities say it wasn't clear what caused the tree to fall.

The accident remains under investigation.
