New Jersey Democrats Unhappy With Christie's Latest Veto

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has vetoed three bills that would have restored more than $130 million dollars in funding for homebuyers tax credits and health care for women and the poor.KYW's David Madden reports highlighting the ongoing budget crunch in the state, Christie noted that the measures were neither paid for in the recently approved budget nor hammered out as part of the compromise with Democrats that led to it.

He labeled the bills "supplemental spending" and insisted they would not get past his desk.

Assembly Budget Committee chair Lou Greenwald, a Cherry Hill Democrat, says the bills pay for themselves, for the most part, and they all got overwhelming bipartisan support in the legislature:

"I think people will have to watch very closely whether or not their Republican representatives are thinking on their own or are, quite frankly, listening to one voice."

Greenwald has asked his leadership to schedule an override attempt in the next few weeks.
