New Advancements Make Contacting Public Officials Easier
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Following the election many people are looking to become more involved in the political process, but how?
Write a letter, send an email, make a phone call or reach out on social media, all ways people can contact their elected officials.
Democratic U-S Congressman Brendan Boyle represents parts of Philadelphia and Montgomery County, he said the multiple ways makes it easier to build a connection.
"People actually have much more of a direct impact than they probably realize," he said. "Literally just picking up the phone or sending an email is paid attention to and the fact that so few people actually bother to do it, means that those who bother to do it end up having a louder voice than they probably realize."
Boyle said if his office gets even just one call about a bill, it puts it on the radar for his staff. And while each office is different he says a personal phone call gets the most attention.
