Mayor Kenney Signs Law To Protect Rights Of Transgender, Non-Binary Philadelphians
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Mayor Jim Kenney signed a bill into law Thursday morning that protects the rights of trans and non-binary Philadelphians. The legislation was sponsored by Councilmember Helen Gym.
It requires youth organizations to implement policies that protect young people who are transgender.
The new law also ensures public buildings have accessible gender-neutral bathrooms, including each floor of City Hall.
